iPhone envy gets funny!

Pretty funny Nokia E70 vs. iPhone comparison/rant page….

My friend Eric summed it up like this:

“That was a cute story. Meanwhile my E70 sits on my desk collecting dust, and I write this from my iPhone.”

Ok, saw this a few days ago and finally gave in….

None of the press-pics of the iPhone show the bottom (where the traditional iPods dock) but if you look closely at this zoomed-in version of the above photo …. well it sure looks “iPhone to me!

It’s slim, silver and has an iPod-looking connector.

Saved from slaughter…

A friend from Brooklyn saved his iPod nano from an untimely end….

Here’s his story:

So my nano broke on the commute home tonight, much to my dismay. Some troubleshooting revealed it to be a broken hold switch. The device thought the switch was perpetually on, so it locked me out of using any buttons. I broke the fucker open and figured out I could solder together the contacts for the switch on the circuit board. I thought I melted the board in the process, but it works perfectly now, minus the hold function. The casing looks a bit ghetto and there’s a hole in the top where the switch used to be, but I’m still pretty pleased with the job. Maybe I can score a gig at an Apple store in Iowa.

Audi (or VW) & iPod

April 2, 2007

I’ve been using a BlitzSafe Audi iPod connector for about a year now…

In summary this is what you get for about $100:

  • Control your iPod by the click wheel
  • Charge your iPod from bottom dock connector
  • Charges iPod for an additional 20 minutes after your vehicle is turned off
  • Easy installation

Installation requires you to pull out your factory stereo and you will loose your factory CD changer as an input. Aside from that it’s A++ all the way.
